The story will show that the real freaks are not those who seem to be so...

This movie is one of my favourite, unfortunately it isn't available on DVD here in Europe and that's a shame...

John Grisham fan

Is anyone else out there a John Grisham fan? I read The Firm and The Client years ago when they first came out and really liked both of them. My Aunt and Uncle bought me his new one, The Appeal, for Christmas, and it is really good.

It's about the people of Cary County in Bowmore in the States. Their water supply has been contaminated for years and people are dying of cancer because of the contaminated water left, right and centre. The judge ruled that one woman should get $41 million for the loss of her husband and son. However, the big business, Krane Chemical, doesn't want to pay, so they're using all these dirty tactics to try and oust that judge before there is an appeal against the original verdict.

Only slightly similar to the Erin Brockovich story, [but hey, who doesn't want to see corrupt big businesses get busted?] A race against time, with lots of corporate back-stabbing. I'm loving it!! Go the good guys!

I was on this cool website last night called The Terror Trap. It is about horror movies, and has all these cool facts about lesser known movies, as well as a few classics from the '70's and '80's.
They also had this list of the 10 scariest movies of all time. Curtains from 1983 came in at #10 and I can totally see why. Here is the url:

There is an old myth that long ago in Egypt, travellers who wanted to pass through the country had to consult with the Sphinx. They had three days to guess the riddle correctly, at which time they could continue safely, or if they were wrong, they would face certain death.

What walks with four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening? Who knows the answer?

Since there are so many people on this site, from so many interesting places, I was wondering about the legends or riddles from other countries. Any quirky folklore that has been handed down through the generations and isn't widely known?
